Anxiety

Persistent worry, fear, or nervousness that can interfere with daily life, often accompanied by physical symptoms like restlessness or rapid heartbeat.

Depression

Ongoing feelings of sadness, low motivation, or hopelessness that affect mood, energy, sleep, and interest in everyday activities.

Bipoplar Disorder

A mood disorder marked by extreme shifts between high-energy or irritable states (mania or hypomania) and low, depressive periods.

Anger Management

Difficulty controlling anger or frustration, leading to emotional outbursts, conflict, or behavior that feels hard to regulate.

Adjustment Disorder

Emotional or behavioral distress in response to a significant life change or stressful event, such as loss, transition, or major disruption.

John Wohlert, MSW, LCSW, LCADC

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LCADC) in the state of New Jersey. I earned my Master of Social Work degree from Monmouth University in 2008 and bring over 18 years of experience in the mental health and substance use treatment fields.

Throughout my career, I have worked across a wide range of clinical settings, including substance abuse rehabilitation programs, mental health programs, and integrated substance use and mental health treatment environments. My background also includes work with individuals experiencing emotional and behavioral challenges, which has given me a deep understanding of complex clinical needs.

I am the founder of JCW Counseling, where I provide thoughtful, evidence-based care to adults ages 18 and older. My approach is grounded in compassion, collaboration, and respect, with a focus on helping clients build insight, develop coping skills, and create meaningful, lasting change.
